Bella, whose real name is Bella Thomson, gained fame by documenting her health struggles with Hirschsprung’s disease and severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). Recently, she contracted a lung infection, which possibly developed into Bronchiolitis Obliterans, an irreversible and chronic lung condition also known as “popcorn lung.”

She lost significant weight in a day due to the strain on her lungs, leading to increased CO2 levels and episodes of delirium. Her medical team decided to sedate and intubate her to prevent a crisis.
